This is a Financial Services Guide (FSG) for Chant West Pty Limited ("Chant West", "we", "us" or "our" in this FSG). It is designed to assist you in determining whether to use the financial and advisory services we provide under our Australian Financial Services Licence.  It describes how we are remunerated, our professional indemnity insurance and how we handle any complaints you may have.

Our Services

Chant West is a superannuation consultancy which primarily provides research and advice to employers, trustees and financial advisers, as well as a ratings service in relation to superannuation funds and multi-manager investment options. Our research and advice is predominantly provided through written reports or our website. Some of our research may be accessed by the public by subscription.

We hold an Australian Financial Services Licence which authorises us to advise and deal in the following financial products:

  • Life products, including investment life insurance products and life risk insurance products;
  • Interests in managed investment schemes, including investor directed portfolio services;
  • Securities; and
  • Superannuation.

How Can You Deal With Us?

We only provide general advice; our advice does not take into account your objectives, financial situation or needs. You should consider whether our advice is appropriate for your own situation and consult a financial adviser if necessary. Before making any decision about whether to acquire a financial product, you should obtain a product disclosure statement from the product provider and read it.

Chant West does not currently accept instructions from individuals to provide personal financial services.

How We Are Paid

Chant West charges licence fees to our research clients in return for a licence to access, use, and in some cases to make available to others, our research reports. We charge consulting clients either a set retainer or a fixed daily fee for providing superannuation consultancy services.

Chant West does not charge superannuation funds for rating their products. However, we charge superannuation funds and investment managers a fee to rate their multi-manager investment options and to use our ratings for promotional purposes. These clients may also purchase our research services.

Chant West employees receive a salary.

Compensation Arrangements

We have professional indemnity insurance in place which covers us for error and omissions. This insurance meets the requirements of the Corporations Act and covers the services we provide. These arrangements cover claims related to the conduct of representatives and employees who no longer represent Chant West (but did at the time of the relevant conduct),

Complaint

If you have a complaint about our services, please write to our Compliance Officer using the contact details below. We will respond to your complaint in accordance with our internal dispute resolution procedure. You may request further information about our complaints procedure at any time. If you are not satisfied with the outcome of your complaint or have not received a response within 45 days, you can complain to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS). FOS provides an independent dispute resolution and can be contacted on 1300 780 808.
